Running out of pre-order time here and I haven't found an answer anywhere else so...
Does anybody know if Live 11 will run on windows 8.1, or 7 for that matter. Lots of users still on these OS.
Yes I know the official requirements are for windows 10, however lots of software/hardware says 10 is required but still actually runs fine on older systems.
I'm going to upgrade to windows 10 with my next pc build, but that's still a couple years away. Not going through the hassle until then.
Thanks!
Live 11 Windows 8.1 & 7

Minimum Win 10 is the requirements. And it is no hassle upgrading to Windows 10, painless.

I installed the 11 Beta on Windows 7 and it ran without problems.
Why, because Windows 10 can be an absolute PITA.

I tried upgrading my desktop to win 10 over Xmas and failed 6 times.Mark Williams wrote: ↑Sat Feb 20, 2021 8:06 pmMinimum Win 10 is the requirements. And it is no hassle upgrading to Windows 10, painless.
My day job is as a web dev.
I suspect it detects "Unsupported hardware" on the motherboard and at second boot (the stage after install and activating and logging into win 10. W10 notices the deactivated onboard Bluetooth, and can't turn it in, so rolls back.
I spent two weeks on that. Each migrate and upgrade to second boot and rollback took about 6 hours. Then a day of looking at logs and scouring online resources for potential solutions.
It was painful and failed.
I'm still on win 7
It's been mentioned that L11 will currently run on Win7, but it's not supported and may stop working at any time do don't rely on it.

I thought like you, then I said adios to windows 7 and welcome to windows 10
Ableton live 11 is running good and less crashes than with windows 7.
It is just a matter of setting the os for performances.
