I was trying to liven up some old acoustic guitar recordings that were done rather badly. Actually, they were multi-mic and direct with some phase and other issues so I wound up having to use just the mic tracks. They were pretty muddy and I worked quite a bit with EQ8 to get them passable Then just for shits and giggles, I killed the EQ and tried Amp on the clean setting. Seemed to do a better job than a hour's tweaking with the EQ. If you've got some dull acoustic tracks on your hands, give it a shot.
