Stylus RMX

Post by Paul Jay » Tue Jul 26, 2005 11:08 pm

Does anybody know how to set up the UC33e to control Stylus Rmx within live? When you click on the little triangle and open up the controller possibilities, none seem to relate to the knobs and sliders in Stylus. And using Midi learn in Stylus doesn't work in Live.
Anybody managed to do this?

the spectrasonics plugs are not really capable of automation in live. its a spectrasonics issue, dunno when it will be fixed if ever.

unfortunately. cause they are so great otherwise

What absolute rubbish! All of the functions can be controlled via midi control numbers and the midi learn function does work in Live, at least with my Neon. You really should be aware of the facts before making such sweeping statements as it's detrimental to a great piece of software as well as your credibility! 8O

jahnlay, can you be a bit mor specific on how you manage this? How do you get the midi learn function in Stylus to work within Live?

Click on the midi learn function on Stylus, click on the function that you want to control, i.e. filter cutoff and then move your midi controller knob/fader. It's in the video tutorial disc, check it out.

another thing that i think that you have to do is arm the track right?
don't want to make a sweeping statement

Agreed, you must arm the track so that midi is going in to that channel, as well as having set your UC33 up in the preferences as a remote control device (in the midi preferences). :)

ok, really now ... hmm looks like you're right ...

but they made it almost impossible to identify which live slider controls what on the interface, because they're all named "parameter #" and there are over a hundred of them 8O

even sliding them in reverse on the live panel i missed any of them moving. i suppose im wondering why they didnt or couldnt just do thier automation like everyone else

also: i was wondering if my credibility on the internet was destroyed for good, or is there anyway i can earn that back?

Bwahahaha!! I think you already earned your credibility back with your next post (when you called yourself a dork)! Apparently all of the functions are properly available for automation in Live 5 (haven't tried it though) and you can get the controller numbers for each of the plug-ins (RMX, Atmosphere and Trilogy) in the documentation.
