Ableton 11 - Undo occasionally broken?

Hey guys,

Running into an issue that I did not experience in 10. At random, the undo feature will quit working for various tasks like undoing a deletion. I CANNOT predict when/why this happens but it is getting very frustrating especially when I'm knee deep in editing hour-long podcasts.

Let me know if you've experience this!

Typically an action from slightly earlier in the project, but not the actual last action

I have the same issue, I guess.
I have opened this support ticket:

"For some third party plugins, the Undo functionality does not work correctly. For instance, I change 3 parameters in AMEK 200 plugin, then I press CMD+Z (or Edit->Undo) 3 times, but only the last parameter change is undone and the other 2 are "ignored", so I have to manually press the Undo function on the plugin itself. This is extremely annoying and time consuming, breaking the workflow.
I realized this doesn't happen in all plugins though.
However, to check if this was a Live thing or not, I tested the same situation in Reaper and in that DAW the Undo works as expected."

After some back and forth, they accepted that this is really a bug, they even managed to reproduce it. But they said they don't have any estimated time for the fix.

Anyone else having that?

I see only two solutions:

Don't use possibly poorly maintained plugins or stay with Reaper.

I can't rember that someone has reported that issue with iZotope, TDR or FabFilter plugins.

I need to bump this topic since I’ve recently been having the same problem. The last Undo entry reads „Change“. It happens in two different sessions using no m4l devices or RX (as I’ve read, rx is a common culprit here). Any further ideas or things to look into?

If everything works fine in Reaper and doesn't in Live, is that a problem with the plugins or with Live? In my opinion, that's Live's fault.
And it happens with lots of plugins, from different manufacturers.

In fact, I'm so pissed off with this that I will produce a list of plugins having this issue in Live (ofc, the ones I own).

Turns out I didn’t see an instance of SMPLR/TRNS by Hollt in the two projects having the issue. I currently suspect it being what caused it in my case. Though I haven’t had enough time to thoroughly test it. Fingers crossed…
