Another bug in Ableton 11, now with Izotope Stutter Edit 2

Post by papawise » Mon Apr 05, 2021 11:36 pm

Hello guys,
I found another problem with Live 11. This is the third bug that I found by now, and I wonder how many more i'll discover.

IZOTOPE STUTTER EDIT 2 just doesn't work, or at least I can't make it. If anyone has any advice will be highly appreciated.

I've tried in Live 10 and works normally as expected.
The proper way to set it up is adding an audio channel where you insert the Stutter Edit and then a MIDI channel where you set it as MIDI IN from that first Audio channel and automatically should appear below (in the second slot) the name of the plugin (Stutter Edit 2) but instead it shows "Track In" and nothing happens, the plugin is unusable. Seems the routing don't recognize the plugin, so doesn't work.

I share a print screen that is more explanatory.

Do you have both VST2 and VST3? Maybe try the other and see if it works

Strange, it’s working for me in 11. I wonder if it’s a version issue. Have you tried downloading and recording installing Stutter Edit? I’m working from a completely fresh PC build that’s around 3 weeks old now.

Not a bug, you need to update stutter. works fine here.
Live 11, M1 Mac Mini, Push 2, Scarlett 18i20 & ADA8200, Softube Console 1 Mk2, Deepmind12, Hydrasynth, Cobalt 8M, Moog Subsequent 25, IK Uno Synth Pro, Plethora X3, Nord Drum 3P

I encountered the same issue. Make sure the MIDI track has no effects on it. I was using a custom default MIDI track that had an effect on it. Hope this solves your problem.

I analyzed your picture.
You have an Instrument on the midi channel or by accident Stutter Edit 2 ;-)
Otherwise, there would be no send buttons.
Delete the Intrument in the midi channel, than it should work.
BUT: I have the problem, that I need to switch to "Auto" and not "IN".
With "IN", I get no trigger to Stitter Edit, even though it works to trigger it with the connected midi keyboard.
Strange...

How are you guys liking Stutter Edit 2 with Ableton? I've spent hours playing with it and am about to give up. Most complicated plugin ever. And then you can't even automate any parameters???? Seriously?!

Maybe you all have better experience with it than me.
