Spitfire Brass Pack low volume
Spitfire Brass Pack low volume
Hi,
does anybody also experience extreme low volume/output when playing sounds of Spitfire Brass Pack?
Clicking prelisten i get a pretty loud sound (not knowing on which output, since no VU-meter level), but when hitting (hard)
keys on my Midikeyboard the volume is very low compared to the prelisten volume or to other Ableton sounds.
Further more, the brass sounds doesn't respond to velocity by default, strange.

Re: Spitfire Brass Pack low volume
no, "Long Hollow - Brass Quartet.adg" in folder "Individual..."
the VU-meter reaches only -36db max and no velocity

Re: Spitfire Brass Pack low volume
Well, "hollow" probably explains it. You can add a Utility after it if you need boost.

Re: Spitfire Brass Pack low volume
probably not... the same issue happens with the other presets too
the strange thing is, after a pause (dinner) the sound was louder (-24db) and velocity was also working, very strange.
The only thing i did, was dl and installing the Retro Synth Pack.
For testing purpose i quitted Live and restarted....same issue, low vol no velocity, very strange

Hmm, I'm not seeing the same thing with other presets, which are louder.

Re: Spitfire Brass Pack low volume
yes, the Staccato and other short presets respond to velocity and are louder, the answer from Spitfire support is:
"Long techniques don't respond to key velocity, and are instead controlled through the expression and dynamics faders, CC1 and CC11"
good to know, now i am looking how to configure the Modwheel, since nothing happens by default, when turning it up while playing the Long sounds...
Re: Spitfire Brass Pack low volume
The usual CC1/11 was moved to the Dynamics macro for these Spitfire packs.
You can use Expression Map to assign your modwheel to this macro.
This isn't as convenient as the usual CC1/11 but that's fine enough.
You can still dive into the presets and add modwheel control to parameters inside the Samplers modulation tab.

Re: Spitfire Brass Pack low volume
puh, yes, thanks, i see that probably the Dynamics and Saturation Macros and their controller/midi config are especially responsible for the low output.
i opened the chain and tweaked a little bit (try and error) and got a much louder sound.
But assigning it to the Modwheel to control the loudness i didn't succeed yet
