recording midi

Post by Mohondoro » Fri Apr 09, 2021 6:43 am

Live 11, Windows 10.

I've been trying to record midi, using an Akai MPK 61, without success. I can hear the sound but no events are recorded. Well, they were once then Live crashed when I open the midi editor. Now nothing is recorded at all - yes, the track is armed.
I find the whole midi interface utterly baffling (as is most of the program) I have the manual open, go through the process step by step and still can't figure it out.
How is midi recorded and then edited after the fact?

Live has 2 Views (Session and Arrangement) and hence 2 record buttons (plus the record buttons in each Clip Slot in armed Session View tracks).

So maybe you are recording to one View while looking at another?
