Pitch bend problem

Post by omoroca » Thu Apr 29, 2021 9:36 pm

I'm using my Yamaha SY77 as a MIDI input device for my software synths in Ableton Live 11. When playing lead melodies, I usually like to run wild on the pitch bend wheel, which is correctly mapped to Ableton Live's pitch bending and properly recorded. However, there's a difference to the pitch bending I'm used to from the SY77: The pitch bending is always applied, even after releasing the key I played. I hope you can understand what I'm trying to say, it's difficult to explain.

I'll try to put it differently. What I would like to do is:
1.) press a key on the keyboard to play the first note
2.) pitch bend this note using the wheel while the key is still pressed
3.) release the key
4.) put the pitch bend wheel to a different position for the next note, without affecting the pitch of the previous note (the first key is not pressed any more, but the instrument has a long release time, so the first tone can still be heard)
5.) play the next note
etc.

Is that possible with Ableton Live 11 at all??
