Midi to multiple channels

Post by marmalade » Sun Jun 06, 2021 1:32 pm

Hi. I would like to use a single midi instrument to trigger multiple arpeggiators, each of which are on separate midi channels. Is there a way of doing this using a single midi instrument?

For example:
Midi channel 1: Wavetable
Midi channel 2: Arp 1
Midi channel 3: Arp 2
Midi channel 4: Arp 3

Thanks.

In Live you'd need to put these on different midi tracks and select their midi channel input accordingly.

Thanks. If I set their midi input for each of the Arps in the example above to Wavetable, and click IN then nothing is happening.

The only way around this is to use multiple Wavetables, each set to a single Arpeggiator.

What do you want to do exactly?
You want each Arp's midi to be sent to the same Wavetable instance? And then play each Arp only to a certain key range?

Just to use slight variations of a chord via each of the arpeggiators, each of which will have slightly different note triggering, length etc.

My current project has 6 midi channels in all (one for Wavetable and one for each of the arps):
Wavetable with midi from Arp 1
Wavetable with midi from Arp 2
Wavetable with midi from Arp 3

Since the Wavetables are all using the same patch, I am trying to avoid my CPU becoming overloaded: I intend using more hungry midi instruments should I get it to work.

Why not racking all the Arpeggiator then? You'll have various options to select them, giving them each a key range etc...
