Saving help: MAC

Post by psk215 » Thu Jun 17, 2021 5:41 pm

Hello Ableton community,

I've been stepping away from my Ableton projects files for longer periods and when I come back Ableton has trouble locating the files.

Even after "collecting all and saving" these projects still have missing media files.

It seems as though they are dormant and waiting to be downloaded from the cloud. This seems to generate a secondary (and often large .wav file). It's taking up hard drive space and it's annoying.

There's probably an easy fix that I am unable to see. Can anyone identify my blindspot?

Thank you

Are you storing projects and audio files in the cloud? Not sure why else it would need to download them, can you give more details?

I saw a video today on optimizing Live Sets (it's new - on Ableton's YouTube channel), and they recommend not storing samples/audio in the cloud. If you're clouding, that is!

Thank you everyone. I wound up just downloading any files in the cloud and working off of another hard drive. My CPU is considerably faster.
