overall latency on mbp 2013 v 2012

Hi there

I have 3 mbp s. I've recently upgraded from a 2011 mbp to a 2013. - up with the times I am not!

I'm running Live 9, Arturia V collection and Izotope 9.

My main machine that has been running all this pretty well is a 2012 mbp.

I was comparing the latency on my "new" 2013 with the 2012:

2013: input 11.6 ms, output 22.8, overall 34.4

2012: input 11.6, output 15.7, overall 27.3


Why is the latency worse on the newer 2013 mbp compared to the 2012?

2012 is a 2.5 gig i5 2013 is a 2 ghz i7?

Both 8 gig of ddr 3 ram?

Not sure why this is?
