Looking for a specific kick sound

Post by dannysimmon » Mon Jul 26, 2021 12:10 am

Hi guys,

I am trying to get a sound of a kick I have listened in a couple of songs and I was wondering if this is a good place to find someone who may be able to get it, or if any of you know a forum where this kind of request are made.

Thanks a lot in advance.

First before trying to find/copy/paste it have you simply tried to sample it from the source or better, re-create it and maybe make it better/original?

People ask for a certain sound all the time but often people will suggest to use it as an example and teach yourself to emulate it, not copy it, so you gain a little knowledge along the way.

otherwise throw a hook in the water, post an example and see if anyone bites.

Hi,

Yes, totally agree with that but I've been trying for too long now and what I get is either too soft or too punchy but never the correct balance and really need to understand how is done to learn something new.
Here are two examples:

Both are the same technique.

Thanks in advance :)

Sounds like a 909 kick with all the low end taken out in both examples then a bassline added on top.

Hey jestermgee,

I really appreciated that you take your time on this but honestly is not that simple. I tried that already. There is something more, believe me.
That's why I am so curious about it.

But again, Thank you!
