CPU spikes during scenes launch.

Post by bikon » Tue Sep 21, 2021 4:55 pm

Hello!

I've got a problem with my project on Ableton Live 11 Standard. Almost every time when I launch a scene (I think it happens specifically when it has an instrument with a delay on it) it causes CPU spikes, which in turn cause audio deformation, cracks and pops. Why is this happening? I'm working on a Mac Air 13-inch, early 2014, macOS Big Sur. I have more than enough disk space, every other application is closed. I thought that it might come from too many tracks in the project (21 in total), but my bandmate also working on a Mac (newer, 8GB and 1,6 GHz comparing to my 4GB and 1,4 GHz) with similar track number has no issues. My Ableton is currently running on 44100 sample rate and 256 buffer size.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

4GB? Probably best to check the minimum recommended hardware on the Ableton website, one of the mods may have a link but it's easy to google..
