count-in for recording

I just want a 4 beat count-in for when I record on any part of the arrangement. why is this so difficult to achieve? there is a count-in function with options for number of measures. there is a click track function. what are they for if not for this? I should be able to specify any measure of the arrangement that I want to start recording on (arrangement or session view), press record and have a simple 4 beat (or however many beats/measures I specify depending on the meter) count-in so that I have ample time to get ready to play what I want to record. this is elementary stuff on any DAW and yet when I try to find a tutorial on youtube they have me doing all kinds of nonsense that is not at all simple. too simple for ableton? OK I give, any helpful suggestions are appreciated
