Split/Mask a Midi Signal Ableton Live Intro

Post by daz1761 » Mon Oct 11, 2021 7:29 pm

I was wondering if I could split/mask an incoming midi signal from an external keyboard, for example, where notes from C3 upwards will only be received to trigger a soft synth in Ableton live intro?

The reasoning behind this is that I have a keyboard that you can program to play sounds from a split point e.g. C3 and below, or vice verse. So my aim is to play the external keyboard sounds from the bottom half and a soft synth from the top half, for example.

This is for a live application

Live can do that internally with Key Zones inside MIDI Effect Racks or Instrument Racks.

Brilliant that’s exactly what I need, tried the instrument rack solution and this is fine for me. Thanks
