Out of Phase/Distortion Issues?

Post by matty_kellogg » Sun Oct 24, 2021 7:38 pm

Hi Community!

I am recording live instruments into Ableton and I am getting some distortion now that I laid my bass track down.

When I play the bass track and two guitar tracks individually in "solo" there is no distortion, yet when all the tracks playback, there is distortion/peaking sounds, any suggestions how I could fix this? When I reduce the bass levels I still get distortion, so I am thinking this is a weird frequence/phase issue, but I am stuck.

FYI - I have frozen the drum tracks, set audio tracks to RAM, and increased buffer size to no avail, so I do not believe it is a CPU issue?

I am using Ableton 10 with Audient id14 Audio Interface, on Macbook pro 2012. For live instruments I am using DI or Amp emulator.

Thank you!

Do you still get distortion when you turn down the master channel fader? Are you using the latest drivers for the Audient?
