Misplaced Audio Effect File (?)

Post by otalgia99 » Fri Nov 19, 2021 1:50 pm

Hello everyone

I think I might have either inadvertently dragged the Limiter effect ( LIMITER.ADV ) into my User folder, or perhaps somehow saved it into that location.

In the browser, it now shows up in a sub-folder of the Limiter collection called "Other." Sitting there, it looks like a generic effect that probably belongs in the default location along with others of its category.

However I'm not positive this is the case. And, if it is, I do not know where it should really belong. I cannot simply drag it up a level in the browser.

Any thoughts? Advice will be much appreciated, and could really help me find the limiter much more easily in future.

All the best

The file "Limiter.adv" is just a saved preset (adv = ableton device preset).

You can put it pretty much anywhere you want (better to move it using Live's Browser, not in an external file manager).

User Library has a Presets folder I think, with Audio Effects/Limiter sub folders, that's one place you could put it.
