mapping controller - just for active track?

Post by yentzee » Mon Dec 06, 2021 11:42 am

Hi,
I was wondering whether there is a way to map midi cc a bit more in detail.
Does anyone know if (and how) it is possible to map midi cc that way that they are just active on the active channel?
I am having 8 knobs I hardly use as 8 isn't enough and not really woth mapping. However if there was a way to map for example no 1 to volume, no 2 to pan, no 3 to send a etc and have the cc just affecting the channel that is selected at the moment it would be much more beneficial.
If this is possible to would it be possible to exclude certain cc from this so that I can have one cc controlling main volume regardless which channel is selected?

Thanks for helping.
Jens

Hi Jens, I don't know if it's possible with a M4L device but you can easily do it (and lots more) with ClyphX Pro. It works perfectly with Live 10 but is still in Beta for Live 11.

You can make a ‘user remote script’. No max needed. It’d just always work when you open Live on old sets and new. There are some particular qualities of it. But for the most part it is meant for something like this.

An easy way to do it is using remotify, you’d be able to set it up however you need without writing a script in python.
