Unable to find my waves plugins
Unable to find my waves plugins
I've just moved from reaper to ableton, but no matter what i do, the waves vsts are never picked up in a scan.
I store all my vsts in a custom folder on one of my hard drives and i have ableton pointing to that folder for vst2 and vst3 etc.
I found the waves plugin files located in C:\program files (x86)\waves with all the dlls and proceeded to copy that across the my vst folder. However, all that appears in my plugin library on ableton is waveshell1-vst 12.7 x64 rather than the actual plugins.
Would appreciate any help on getting this working.

Re: Unable to find my waves plugins
The waveshells contain the plugins. The waveshells are the ones that Ableton needs to see in order to get to individual plugins. Remember to open the waveshell within abletons browser once Ableton has scanned them, you should see the plugins within the waveshell.
Live 11, M1 Mac Mini, Push 2, Scarlett 18i20 & ADA8200, Softube Console 1 Mk2, Deepmind12, Hydrasynth, Cobalt 8M, Moog Subsequent 25, IK Uno Synth Pro, Plethora X3, Nord Drum 3P
Re: Unable to find my waves plugins
Thanks for your response.
I've tried moving the waves shell stuff across.
All that appears in my plugin list once doing that is a plugin called wavesshell1-vst.
If i try to open that within ableton it just opens some random plugin window that is nothing to do with any of my plugins.

Re: Unable to find my waves plugins
That is a 32bit folder location and so no plugins from that location (unless you have butchered your installations completely) will load into Live.
Waves does not install to a custom location, it is retarded and has a set location that Waves says in their documentation to copy the newly downloaded files to your VST folder location.
https://www.waves.com/support/how-to-us ... vst-folder
You need to copy the 64bit waves plugins to the location you have set for your VST plugins. If you do not know this, you should really set a location, remember it and change all your 3rd party plugi8ns to use this new location so it is easier to manage.
