Why won't Live recognize Peak batched AIFFs?

Why won't Live recognize Peak batched AIFFs?

If I convert an MP3 to an AIFF in Peak, it works fine in Live.

But if I batch convert with the same settings, Live says it doesn't recognize the compression format.

Any ideas? I've got 271 of these to do!
