Keep one track always armed when using auto-arm feature

Post by billybuck1 » Sat Jan 15, 2022 8:31 pm

It looks like the Arturia Keylab series doesn't auto-arm a selected track like other controllers do (Novation Launchkey, etc). To get around that, I enabled Ableton's "auto-arm selected track" feature via an entry in the options.txt file.

Works great, however I'm trying to find a way to leave one audio track always armed so that an outboard synth is always recording audio, but still be able to switch between other MIDI tracks with various VST's, arming as I go.

Tried an M4L device called Arm-Me that's supposed to leave its track always armed, but apparently Ableton's global auto-arm option overrides it.

Ideas?
