I looooove Ableton Live 11.5

Post by Djard » Fri Jan 21, 2022 6:38 pm

I still use Audacity for recording; but after trying Reaper (limited), Ardour (non-intuitive) and FL Studio (unfriendly) for applying effects and correcting asynchrony, my appreciation for the myriad of features in Ableton Live continues to grow. What a wonderful piece of engineering! Juz my 'pinion.

Not as good as L12, but pretty darn good I agree
(Live is currently 11.0.12  )

If the next version includes an Undo icon, it will even be better. The only shortcoming that I can see is the limited ability to access files from the Files dropdown menu. I keep a lot of audio files on external USB drives. But that is a minor matter for me.

I too am loving Live 11.5. The new note-based audio editing feature is like 1000x better than Melodyne, and the new AIMastering® plugin made me uninstall Pro Tools!

Live 11.5 removed all my wallpaper nicely and assists at lambing time.

Tom Waits has done a review of 11.5:

"That's right it fillets
It chops, it dices, it slices
It never stops
Lasts a lifetime, it mows your lawn
And it mows your lawn
It picks up the kids from school
It gets rid of unwanted facial hair
It gets rid of embarrassing age spots
It delivers the pizza
And it lengthens
And it strengthens
And it finds that slipper that's be en-lodged under the
Chaise lounge for several weeks
And it plays a mean rhythm master
It makes excuses for unwanted lipstick on your collar
And it's only a dollar"

I have found Ableton Live 11 to be great for my ambient music styles,in minimalist :D

The audio and mid editing is awesome too
Lots to like,in this version
I am working on hybrid stuff,electronic/orchestral as an experiment .

Be nice to have a dedicated keyswitch lane like Studio One 5 .5 has.

But Ableton has got loads of great features, plugins and tools I can ignore the lack of key switching, heh, heh
