MIDI arpegiator - Using after touch to change note velocity?

Post by nitevision » Sun Jan 23, 2022 11:03 am

I am using a midi arpegiator within a drum rack to create a note repeat effect for specific samples.

My midi controller (Axiom 49) has aftertouch and I’d like to be able to modulate the velocity while holding the key by alternating pressure levels on it.

The Arpegiator only seems to take velocity of the first note. Is there another way to approach this that would allow me to pump the velocity?

Add a "velocity" MIDI FX after the Arpeggiator and a M4L "expression Control". Map Aftertouch to the Velocity.
MacBook Pro 13" Retina i7 2.8 GHz OS 10.13, L10.0.1, M4L.
MacStudio M1Max 32Go OS 12.3.1

I have standard rather than suite so don't have access to M4L. Thanks for that though Interesting to know I could do it that way!

Standard comes with Expression Control.

Even Lite comes with it.
