Abelton 10, Backing Tracks with a live band and pitch changes

Post by miket007 » Fri Apr 15, 2022 11:45 pm

The backdrop is I am using AB 10 for backing tracks. Philosophically I have decided to capture the backing tracks of cover songs in their original key with an expectation that if needed, I can make key changes in AB10. That may be wrong or right...either way I am down this road with a small library of songs. While I know I can use warp and transpose, what I would like to know/verify is:

1) whether I can drop these a half step
2) streamline or automate the process of key changes across multiple clips of the same song or even multiple songs

It would be great to select the individual stems/clips/tracks then adjust the key a half step for all of them at once. Is there a less time consuming way of managing this?

1) warping and then setting transpose to -1 drops it a half-step
2) use the Shift key to select multiple clips, use Command/Control (Mac/Windows respectively) to select or deselect clips one at a time. Once you have all the clips revelant to your song selected, whatever change you make to the transpose knob will affect all of them thus saving alot of time.
