Converting Akai S1000 samples?

I bought the Wizoo Platinum 24 Latin Percussion after a recommendation here.

It's in Akai S1000 format. (I guess that's why it was so cheap!) Is there a quick & dirty way to convert them to AIFFs on a Mac? I've Googled around and not gotten very far, and don't really want to spend a lot of cash on a program that I won't need for anything else.

Any free/shareware stuff out there?

Have you searched on google for 'chicken systems translator' and i know this sounds like a wind up but you should give it a try.

never had any luck with the chicken systems stuff, theres another one out there called extreme sample converter heard good things about it
