I like to use Ableton to prep files for external samplers and whatnot, because I can set the project bpm and easily cut up loops on the grid and consolidate them for export.
The problem I'm running into is Ableton seems to normalize these clips when I consolidate them, so the volume of the files are inconsistent. Since I'm prepping the files for a looper, I don't want to have to adjust the volume of each file individually.
How can I consolidate clips without Ableton adjusting the volume?
Consolidate without changing clip volume
Re: Consolidate without changing clip volume
That's not an option with consolidating.
If you don't need to glue several audio clips together but you're just resizing single samples, then using the Crop feature is what you need.

That's exactly what I needed, thanks! Hard to believe I'd never heard of this feature before after using Ableton for so many years. Too bad there's no keyboard shortcut..
Re: Consolidate without changing clip volume
yep, unfortunately
If you're registered on Centercode for beta testing, you can add a Suggestion (i.e a feature request) for this.
You can also search if there's already one in here and upvote it.
