Play mainstage patch using ableton midi track (2 different macbooks)

What I'm trying to accomplish:
Use a recorded midi track in Ableton (on MacBook Pro # 1) to "play" MainStage patch (in MainStage on MacBook Pro # 2). I have midi cables (both in and out) between the two interfaces on the two different machines. I have audio routed from MacBook Pro # 2 into Ableton Live on MacBook Pro # 1 for recording the sounds coming from MainStage on MacBook Pro # 1.

This would allow me to edit the midi in Ableton as needed (ie. Quantize, manually correct mistakes, and otherwise perfect my performance) and still use my favorite MainStage patches when I'm recording in Ableton.

Is this possible, and if so, can you help me understand which settings (and where) I need to set to make it happen?

Open to other ideas as well, to "play" MainStage using a recorded midi track that is in Ableton Live.

Very grateful for any help you can provide.

Hi, I looked into something similar a while back and believe it's possible using Rewire, try searching on YouTube for "Rewire Ableton MainStage", that should point you in the right direction.
