Looper: Record panning per take

Post by IMage_Engine » Sat Jul 02, 2022 5:26 am

Howdy
I would like to use 4 loopers to emulate a basic hardware setup...pretty basic
however
I would like each take on a looper to begin at a particular pan position
eg Most rhythmic stuff I would like to be close to centre but I would like every take to randomly choose a wider and wider pan position

Application
First take
I begin with a tempo synced basic loop (normally tapped on my guitar) and this will be the basic groove
Next take
I would like the pan to move by a certain amount to the left say L10
I would like this take to be R10

Now of course it needs programming to do that...no probs as it can be done via remote script and thats not the real issue

WHERE is there a record pan on the looper to do that? Most other loopers I have used eg Guitar Rig, have a controller for pan record position

Is creating a separate input and routing to the recorded channel the only way to do this? ie panning on the input channel routed to the record channel?
Any ideas as how to do this any other way?

Cheers

Looper is recording in stereo, so you simply need to pan your signal before sending it to Looper.

But it cant do it alone...on that track right because the pan is post fader

So you mean it is as I thought, you need to create another track and send that to the track with the looper and do the pan there, right?

Its not like the loopers I described where its part of the looper.
Just making sure as its prob easier and better in the sense that eg using guitar rig looper has loop multiplier so that if you are recording and go over the time of the underlying loop, it auto extends the loop etc

Thanks for your help

You can pan stuff with an instance of Utility before Looper...
