Hi everyone!
I'm working on a sound installation requiring the launching of random clips within Ableton (we're working on 11.1.6//Live Suite at the moment).
The premise of the installation is that it is a piece of upcycled furniture (an old sewing machine table in this case) that has a bunch of objects with encoders/sensors hidden on and inside it. They route back to an Arduino which then transmits that information to Ableton via MIDI.
I'm wondering if there is a simple way to have a single CC value launch random clips on a track within Ableton. I've looked through some of Ableton's built in utilities but can't seem to find anything. Ideally, I'm hoping this is possible regardless of whether it is an audio or MIDI track and with both Intel and M1 Macs.
Thanks in advance!

So I typed in Google…

Merci beaucoup! My Google searches prior to posting yielded no such results. I'm fairly new to Ableton and have never used M4L devices yet.chapelier fou wrote: ↑Sun Jul 03, 2022 1:25 pmSo I typed in Google…

I am trying your suggestion, but am running into issues with legato mode where the midi notes are sometimes clipped (and sometimes not). Otherwise, it works well enough.
Can it be used for audio tracks as well? That would be truly useful, much faster than setting things up with a drumrack, and easier to follow visually.
Thanks again!

Re: Random clip launch
I just mean that sometimes when using this device, notes at the beginning of my midi clips are not being triggered as they should when the clip is in legato mode. It works ok when the clip is not in legato mode.

Ah yeah, the Live API is to blame. It’s too slow.
