ALC files saved on Mac not recalling automation on PC.

Post by JOEZAY » Tue Aug 02, 2022 10:23 am

I recently switched my production workflow from Mac to Windows.

I'm having an issue where some of my ALC presets / patches saved on my old Mac are not being properly recalled on Windows.

When the problem arises, automation and modulation envelopes do not recall.

Other than the automation, the clips load up perfectly.

This happens 100% of the time with certain ALC files and not with others.

I transferred some of these problematic ALC files back to the Mac, and they recalled perfectly, so the automation data is all there, it just isn't being recalled on the PC.

ALS files are unaffected, they always recall properly. I have a huge library of ALC presets which has grown over a decade, so very tedious and time consuming to convert all of them to ALS files.

One thing to note, the PC is running Ableton 11.1.6. Mac is still on 11.1.5. Could this be a new bug in 11.1.6?

Wondering, have any of you guys experienced anything similar?

Hi Tarekith, thanks for the reponse. I have a support ticket for this already.

No solution as of yet, but we have discovered that the problematic patches all used Valhalla Room, and disabling the plugin allows the automation to recall properly. I'm awaiting a response from Valhalla.

I'll update this thread if I ever get to the bottom of this.
