Reset all clip volumes - Arrangement view
Reset all clip volumes - Arrangement view
Figured I’d throw the question up. Currently searching for an answer to this… Can I reset all clips in Arrange view to 0 dBFS at once?
I use Live during recording sessions because I’m most comfortable (fast) with its GUI. For bass line ideas and MIDI drums I use Session view. For recording sessions, I lean on Arrangement view. As such, most of my unique/original set clips are in Arrange view.
I need to export to Logic to mix due to M1 and Rosetta noise. Not blaming Ableton… Is what it is, but I need *full featured* access to various plugins - for various reasons. Done.
So, I find myself having stripped all effects, track/group level volume edits, and resetting pans… And lastly, wanting to reset audio clip volumes before exporting the stems.
Super happy with the arrangement though, fwiw
Is there an easy way to reset all clips (in Arrange view) back to 0 dBFS?

Re: Reset all clip volumes - Arrangement view
Select all the audio clips, then on the clip view select the volume slider and hit delete. That should also reset all the selected clips volume as well.
Re: Reset all clip volumes - Arrangement view
Thanks for the quick reply.
I think I’m getting tripped up between ‘select all the clips’ and then…
How do I get to ‘clip view’ without deselecting all the other clips?
Sorry if it’s something asinine

Re: Reset all clip volumes - Arrangement view
To be more clear, I can select 116 clips, for example… but there’s no volume option. Trying other selection methods seems to drop me off at a single clip and deselect all the others

Re: Reset all clip volumes - Arrangement view
Tedious, but I edited all 100+ clip volumes manually.
Next time, I won’t change clip volumes outside Session view…
… so I pretty much won’t edit them
MIDI drums ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Re: Reset all clip volumes - Arrangement view
If you had any midi clips also selected, you won’t see the audio clip parameters.
