Copying Audio Units to a new hard drive

Post by MrMellowD » Sun Aug 14, 2022 2:59 pm

Hi.

I’m using a MacBook Pro and I’m having trouble moving my Audio Units to a new hard drive.

I copied and pasted the Audio Units (components) from
my old hd and pasted them in the new hd in the correct
Location (library/Audio/plug-ins/Components). They do appear in Ableton but when I double click on them nothing happens.

Just wondering if anyone knows a solution? I’m hoping I won’t have to reInstall all of the Audio Units again.

Thanks in advance! :)

You'd be far better off using the original Audio Unit installers to put them on the new computer, just copying the component files is likely not going to work that well as you've found out.

Thanks so much for the reply.

I was hoping it would be as easy as copy and paste but yeah I think I’ll just re-install them again.

Thanks for clearing that up
