can the Track Activator state send a midi command?

Post by clairefoy » Fri Sep 30, 2022 12:30 am

I want to turn off all the plugins in a track when that track is deactivated, and turn them all on again when the track is activated. Is this possible?

This is to save CPU during live performance. My Waves OVox plugin uses 10% CPU. I want to have its activation state tied to its track activation state.

Hi @clairefoy,

Doing that by clicking directly on the Track Activator button could be achieve with a dedicated Max for Live device.

However, you could use a midi or keyboard mapping to turn on and off at the same time the Track and the Instrument Rack, with a single key or midi button. Are you using a midi controller ?

Also, a "button macro" M4L device could help you. But I didn't find anything like that on maxforlive.com...

I hope that's helpful,
