Live and Novation Mininova

Hi there

My mate wants to use his Mininova with Live Lite 10. He's using a behringer uca222 audio interface.

The mininova is connected to his mbp using usb and the audio out from the mininova is going into the audio interface. We've successfully managed to record midi and audio into a midi and an audio channel in Live. What he really wants to do thought is copy the midi part underneath and use this to send midi to a different patch on the mininova so he can again route the audio back into live and end up with 2 or 3 layers of audio recordings of the same notes but different patches. We're struggling to send midi back to the mininova to play through a new patch. Can this be done via usb? Do we have to set the mininova to receive on a channel? I can't see what the settings are in Ableton for sending midi back out?

I read somewhere that mininovas will only send midi but not receive or have I got that wrong?
