Tempo changes without warping audio

Post by Gutterfly » Tue Nov 08, 2022 12:02 am

Hi Guys

Brand new ableton user here so apologies straight off the bat if this is a stupid question..

I‘m using Live exclusively to run tracks for my band. I’m using the fromstudiotostage template and it’s working great. The issue I’m having is with one particular song that has some pretty crazy tempo changes. It’s mostly at 93bpm but has a mid section that drops to a big riff at 62bpm, then double time to 124, then back into the main feel but a few clicks faster at 96bpm. I’m pulling the stems in from the original pro tools session, along with a rendered click, and just need them to play back exactly as they are. The trouble is, when I try and programme the tempo changes in ableton so that the internal grid all lines up, it either slows down or speeds up the audio in those sections. Do I need to disable the warping on the audio only? I’m really stuck.

Many thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Thank you!
