Redundant Backing Track System with two Macs

Post by Stratopack » Mon Nov 14, 2022 12:57 pm

Hey there,

my Name ist Steve and I'm very new here, even If I use Ableton since 5 Years live and for creating backing tracks in the studio.

I'm using Live to run the backing tracks for my bands.

Therefor I use Ableton in Session view. I organized every song as one scene (6-7 different audio tracks). For me, or better for our drummer, that's the perfect handling:
[return] starts a song with all its tracks, next scene is instantly marked after start.
[Return] again starts the next song, and so on.
If an error occurs - [Space] stops the song. Should not happen of course... :D

Now I'm trying to implement a full recovery Fallback System. So - use two Macs - synchronized with Ableton link. So far so good.
My issue is: starting a track on computer A starts although the synchronized/ linked computer B. But the marked scene switches only on computer a to the next one. Computer B stays marked on the actual song!?

So anyone here who does kind of the same setup and can give me a hint how to solve that issue?

BTW I'm using the iconnectivity Play12 interface.

I would be very helpful to talk to other (professional) users with kind of a setup like mine.

Cheers Steve
