Template for recording - how many tracks is "too many"?

Post by FlavioB » Mon Jan 09, 2023 1:33 pm

Hi there.
I am thinking about creating a simple template for myself. It should have all the tracks for all my studio instruments ready, with the correct labels and set to Monitor them all.
My question is: does it do any harm to performance, having all instruments (say 15) ready on their tracks in a project? I would not record audio on all of them, so I think they should not be a burden.
Any feedback on this?
Thanks,
F.

It shouldn’t have much impact as long you don’t have any plug in on those tracks you’re not using. Easy enough to test on your end though, just keep adding tracks to your template watch the cpu meter.
