Routing iTunes through Live?
Routing iTunes through Live?
Any easy way to do this?
Would be useful to use Live's EQ/compression when listening to iTunes, especially web radio.
Cheers!

Ahhh, ok, I was going to mention Soundflower as a possibility, but I guess you're ok.hambone1 wrote:Sorted... just plugged Ozonic's A outputs into B inputs!
Now when are we gonna be able to access the ITMS from Live's browser?
I wish! I'm tired of downloading tracks from the ITMS and burning CDs just to make AIFFs for Live. I guess at least I've got a hard non-computer copy of each track that way.polyslax wrote:Ahhh, ok, I was going to mention Soundflower as a possibility, but I guess you're ok.hambone1 wrote:Sorted... just plugged Ozonic's A outputs into B inputs!

hambone1,
the only real downside to the "patch routing" using the Ozonic is that you're doing a roundtrip D/A-A/D conversion... convenient, but not the cleanest way to do things.
You know, you don't have to burn CDs if you already have the audio files. Live 5 imports MP3, so if that's your format, no prob, just drag them in from your hard drive.... if you need the conversion to AIF first (e.g. from AAC), iTunes can do that for you as well....
Then just drag and drop the AIF files into Live as normal.
Audio Hijack is probably the best way to record streams. Works a treat, and keeps it all in the digital domain......
From there, save as a file, or send it through Soundflower or Jack, and straight into Live... easier than it sounds, and no D/A-A/D conversion required......
peace,

i use a program called Jhymn which will convert restricted AAC files from iTMS to any format you need, mp3/AAC/WAV/AIFF. it will create an unrestricted copy from your existing tracks. i use it and it's great - i've had to convert about 60 tracks at one point and I just loaded up JHymn and let it work for a few minutes. give it a try, might save you a few cdshambone1 wrote:

Yo,
For a very simple solution within itunes, try Octiv's Volume Logic plugin:

It's cheap and really makes shitty source material sound much better...
(I have even recorded its output into audio hijack because I like the multiband compression so much)
