Scene selection with BCR 2000?

Post by Michael-SW » Thu Sep 01, 2005 9:07 pm

Just got my BCR and I'm busy trying to make a good Live preset. However, I'm having trouble with the scene select (scrolling between "rows" in session view).

The encoder should probably be set in relative mode and so should the Live mapping - but which mode?

No need for 14bit for that purpose....

No, I have used normal (7 bit) mode. But the BCR offers three different relative modes and Live has four (I think?). So instead of painful trial and error I though someone already might knew? If relative is indeed the way to go?

So that's what relative mode's for! I didn't think it was possible to scroll between rows...

I'm just wondering, though, if it's possible to scroll up and down with a single rotary knob on the BCR?

I'm guessing no as the 'down' row select button has a separate midi assign and I don't think you can assign the same midi controller to two buttons... but I'd be glad to be proved wrong :)

You CAN scroll up and down with a single knob. You don't assign the up and down arrows. There is a third option, the small square to the right of the arrows. Assign that one to a knob in relative mode. Done!

However, I think that the scrolling is perhaps a tad too sensitive. I wouldn't mind having to turn the knob a little bit more before it jumps a row. Any advice?

Aah sweet, although you're right, the action's not quite the best on it, but I'm more than a bit too drunk to figure it out right now.... jeez.. you should be able to assign the colums to go left and right as well... It'd be very handy too. What' sthat 1 for in that little box, anyone? The one in the scene select box

Oh I was gonna go on a rant therel.... but I'mgonna save youz... beware the drunken post!

edit - it's probably the sensitivity, but you know what, I'm not gonna check! How'd you liek that!
