I was really impressed by this Devo Cover

Waaait a minit.... DEVO *wrote* Head Like a Hole? First? And then NIN made bucketloads of money with their *cover* of the DEVO song?
Holy crap. Now it all makes sense.
I didn't hear the DEVO version until years after Trent blew up big... and it was presented to me as a Devo cover of a NIN song... but something about that just never seemed right. First of all why would DEVO do such a "similar" versoin since they are so wacky and original... the answer is simple, they were the ones who were so original as to come up with the song... Trent just made it palatable to the ninnies and the twits...
Thanks for the revelation!

no Head Like a Hole was written by Trent Reznor, and is an original NIN song.
Devo covered the song and it appeared on their anthology album. they're also on Interscope records which is NIN's label.

OK well then I take it all back. And I'm not that impressed with Devo's NIN cover then, it's too faithful to the otiginal for my liking. "Satisfaction" OTOH ia one of the best covers in all of rock music.... speaking of course of the Devo version of the Stones tune.

yeah I used to be all about Ministry and Nine Inch nails and any industrial stuff i could get my hands on. I drifted away from Reznor when I started paying more attention to his lyrics, i recognise that form of self obsessed self pity. Couldn't get into the Fragile at all even though I'm a major Big Black/Albini fanfsk wrote:yes, can I have the water at room temperature please, as ice cold water slows down your metabolism
