I'm thinking of using Hardware reverb instead of software. I have a Delta 1010 with plenty of i/o, so my question is if I connect the outboard reverb to my Delta 1010 and assign Live's AUX SEND 1 to route via my external gear, where do I need to accomodate for the added latency due to routing to an outboard device and back into the computer? My input latency is 2ms and output latency 2ms (4ms total latency). I know Live has delay compensation but I believe this is only for VST/AU plugins. I assume I would need to manually modify the Track Delay in milliseconds?

Mark

i use a lexicon mpx 550 for reverb in live 5
set up via s/pdif
use a negitive setting on the send chanel's track delay
use a short hit and send it through DRY! (make a loop, input the hardware unit into live and turn that tracks monitor mode to "on")
now you can use track delay on the send chanel to sync the 2 sounds
and "ghost" clips to automate the "return" chanel from your hardware
easy as pie
you can do this with big latency settings mine ends up being -76 ms with 1024 sample buffer size
note: i cannot use s/pdif on my firewire 410 this way as there is a digital sync issue---so have to use the analog ins
but with my digi001 is flawless
