using single drum samples

i am just trying out the demo version of live and facing a very basic problem (probably very simple solution to this...)
i just cant change the start point of a loop and i cant make the whole loop \"longer\" than it really is: e.g. i have a single snare sample and use it as a clip-and i want to have it played on the two and four-cant fix that it will always loop on every beat...

try generating some silence behind the audio-clip with an external sample-editor. even better, use a small audio-sequencer like audiomulch to create a short loop with your samples. i even create loops from one-shot samples in live by zooming extremely into a measure (arranger-view) and just
placing the samples, kinda like in cubase. then record them in session-view.......

so weit ich verstanden habe ist es also nicht möglich einen sinlge drum shot auf im session modus auf die 2 und 4 zu setzen und dann den ganzen tackt als clip zu loopen. natürlich kann ich im sequencer (verwende logic) 4 takt loops aus den sigle shots erzeugen, wäre aber ein ziemlich großer aufwand... und was mach ich wenn die snare dann plötzlich nur mehr auf der 2 schlagen soll? wieder ein neues loop aufnehmen...?
es muß doch auch möglich sein in LIVE eine einen clip aus vier takten zu erzeugen, in dem ich das kurze drum sample auf irgendeinen punkt setzte und der restliche loop "leer" bleibt
