Kraftwerk use Vaios

IBMs are way more expensive, (at least in EU) and from what I've seen in other Live users' studios, the Sony Vaios work incredibly well with Live and Cubase. Kitchen has a rocking setup going with a Hammerfall DSP card.
Hope this helps

Have you seen the Sony Vaio with a 15" extra wide screen and a silver magnesium case which looks like brushed aluminium, its got a P4 2.0ghz 40hd 512ram expandable to 1gig it is also supposed to come with a very high quality sound card. and it looks very sharp and feels sturdy. Now I want to sell my current Vaio to buy this one, my Vaio has a 15" screen but the extra wide 15" screen looks so nice 8O

Where can I see this new Vaios with 15" extra wide screen and silver case? I can't seam to find them on Vaio page?

I've also read that some Vaios had problems with cardbuss controller bandwidth and you were limited to using max 8 channels with RME Hammerfall DSP, did the new ones change this?

I seen that Vaio 2 days ago in Best Buy electronics store, I also could not find it on the internet, maybe it is a custom built Vaio lap top? I will be stopping by the store today and I will get the model name and #, then I should be able to find it on the internet. I will get back to you with the info on it.

It was a scam! The lap top was not a Vaio it was a Vpr Matrix and they had a Sony Vaio tag on it so it looked as if it was a Vaio. If you still want to see it, here you go- www.vprmatrix.com/products_notebook_200A5.asp

I'm a mac user looking to broaden rather than switch, and thinking about a vaio. I've READ about this P4 denormalisation issue...has this been much of a problem for anyone? I know there is/was one vaio available with an AMD and I'm wondering if that's a safer bet. thanks.

I don't know about other vaios, but the sound on my sony picture book was great, it was a yamaha chip and sounded noticably better than the onboard sound of my 600mhz icebook. sadly I don't have either of them now, but I am looking for another laptop.

I'm looking into one of the sonys, I don't think you can really go wrong with them, especialy if you pick one up used. they are lighter than the other brands and come with dvd/cdrw, and firewire + lil sony extras.

I like the way that wide screen looks but it is very expensive and I have never seen it used, I have'nt checked ebay though. but that laptop looks the business.
