I.AM.AN.EXIT -new Ableton tracks(deep techno)+DJ mix for dl

Post by I.AM.AN.EXIT » Mon Oct 17, 2005 9:53 am

Hi Folks,

What began as a little anonymous project has since evolved into well
over 6000 downloads since July 22nd. It's very satisfying to know
that my music has been heard by that many people all over the world.

I've uploaded a new 5 track EP on the website, and also a DJ mix.
Read on for links and full details:

Deep in the Woods EP (OCT 05):

Move
http://www.i-am-an-exit.com/music/i_am_an_exit-move.mp3

This is deep dub inspired track. The main synth bit is a stab sampled
from "also sprach zarathrustra" - the theme from 2001.

Merde
http://www.i-am-an-exit.com/music/i_am_ ... -merde.mp3

Another deep and dubby track, made on the same day as Move. Every
single sound/synth/bit of percussion in this track, apart from the
kick drum and 909 clap, were sampled from a french horror movie
called "Deep in the Woods" (not a great film, but nice sound effects!)

Closed
http://www.i-am-an-exit.com/music/i_am_ ... closed.mp3

Straight forward techno track. That's an access virus and microkorg
making up the bulk of the pads and bassline, along with some real
string snippets.

Tinkle
http://www.i-am-an-exit.com/music/i_am_ ... tinkle.mp3

Another straight forward techno track as above.

Terminus
http://www.i-am-an-exit.com/music/i_am_ ... rminus.mp3

This was an experiment in looping orchestral samples, and trying to
make as many textures as I could from them. All sounds mangled using
the simpler in Ableton 5. Bassline from the access virus.

DJ MIX -

i.am.an.exit - entry (76 mins/ 104 mg)
http://www.i-am-an-exit.com/music/mixes ... _djmix.mp3

Mix recorded on Saturday morning, still quite drunk from Friday
night. One take, no rehearsal. Vinyl and CD. It's probably my longest
mix ever, with the least amount of tracks, I just let the music do
the talking.

Tracklist:

lawrence - happy sometimes (novamute)
avus - tear (klang elektronik)
i.am.an.exit - numb (i-am-am-exit.com)
gabriel ananda - life is steadily breaking my heart [metope remix]
(karmarouge)
unai - i like your style (force tracks)
i.am.an.exit - merde (i-am-am-exit.com)
pantha du prince - butterfly girl [sten version] (dial)
parallel 9 - ventris (music man)
nathan fake - dinamo [michael mayer remix] (traum)
nathan fake - dinamo [original mix] (traum)
david donohoe - hail holy light (minimise)
i.am.an.exit - move (i-am-am-exit.com)

donnacha costello - bear bounces back (minimise)
i.am.an.exit - sotto voce (unreleased)

deus - put the freaks up front (island)
mathew jonson - followed by angels (itiswhatitis)
marco carola - bogoplain (do.mi.no)
vince watson - everything changes (f...u)
That's all....

Oh yeah, gets confusing here, but this is Louis Patrick
aka Brendan Gregoriy aka Chymera (http://www.chymera.org). Let me know what you think of the
stuff.

Kind regards,

LouisPatrickBrendanGregoriyChymeraiamanexit.

I thought someone should write something, as the best compliment we music people can get is attention.
I was hunting for new music to listen to at work and D/L'd your mix. Interesting tunes. Lots of motion and bleeps that form into cool melodies. Good stuff, especially the vocal track in the middle from what I can remember (only heard it once a few days ago). Ill check your individual tracks out next!
