Echo Indigo DJ, success stories with live5?

Post by StompyJ » Sat Oct 22, 2005 3:16 pm

I searched the forum, seems some users are using them successfully, some not so much.

I'm thinking of getting one for my 15" powerbook. Does this configuration work well for anyone who may already be using this?

I have a Echo Layla24, and its been great, so thats why I'm thinking of staying with the same brand. Any other recommendations?

for live stuff it's cool... so lightweight and portable, and the sound quality is excellent... although I do notice that it lacks a bit of low end, but this is easily remedied by turning bass up on the mixer.

totally fine, although as mentioned above, the sound quality does not quite come close to my RME Multiface in terms of punch and low end response. But for quick gigs, it is terrific, and has never failed me.

stay groovy!

drumroll,

just to be clear, you're talking about the multiface that (the cheapest I could find it) was $700 right?

I've got an echo indigo card with a 15" PB and they're both great and work well together.

Love it! It's the best PCMCIA there is in my opinion. The bass problems mentioned earlier are easily solved with an output cable upgrade. DO NOT use the cable it comes with as you lose considerable frequency range and output power. I'd recommend a high quality stereo 1/8" to 2 female 1/4" Y cable (6 inches or so). Then take it from there depending on what you are connecting to, but now you've got the two high quality 1/4" jacks to work with.

The limitations are obvious but it is the most reliable card as far as I know, for live (Live or whatever app) the most trustworthy.
