Drawing a straight midi velocity ramp up or down

Post by nebulae » Thu Nov 17, 2005 5:36 pm

Since we do not have a line tool (yet?!?!), can anyone tell me the best way to draw a straight ramp up or down in the velocity curves?

My guess is that this has to be done with clip automation with the midi volume (cc7). Any thoughts?

And while we're on this topic, any support for a line tool in the midi editor? Or a context menu item like FL Studio's "Smooth curve"?

I suggest automating the max value of a velocity plugin for this. A line tool would be great though.

Can you explain this a bit further? When you turn off the pencil you can only edit the velocities of each midi note individually. Can you be more specific?

So you're talking about clip envelopes, right?

if you use Machinate's advice you'll get a line to automate

i don't think you'll see a line for individual note velocitys
