I just got operator a few days back, and it continues to blow my mind. This is the official bass monster. Anyway, I wanted to try to do some formulaic drum and bass with it. Here it is, a real bastard of a track.
Operator Rinse! v1.1

-Every sound is Operator, every little bleep. Tell me how much it sucks :)

Pretty good track, though I feel the drums are a bit too thin. For me the snare is a bit off. The bassline though is perfect. I love the goofy sweeping fx sounds. Those are pretty much dead on.

thanks for listening!
TBH I'm not getting good snare/hihat sounds out of it yet. But it sure nails those bass-lines...

I'm compiling a new pack of Operater sounds for our web-site. A bunch of big Jungle/DnB/Breaks bass sounds, a couple of pads, fx and drum sounds. More on that in a bit.

Wasting bandwidth for such an awfull tracks ! Gosh !
jk - Like what you did with operator just in a few days, makes a good demo of it but tell me, did you program all from scratch or did you use your Covert Operators mate's presets ???
Maybe you should start a thread with "One track with Operator only" to see what can be digged from the beast.
Best,
amo

It's all done from scratch. I had a close look at some of the pad sounds in our pack, but it's all fresh.

Please finish this track. I love this type of DnB. Who cares if it has a typical formula song structure. Its infectious!(to me, IMHO!)

I like the way the snare sounds, except when the filter sweep is used on it. Filter sweeps on drums is cool, but it did not come out to good on this particular track(a little out of place sounding)

The overall feel of the track is a little to tight. But should be easy to fix.

I know you only did this to show off what Operator can do. If I did not already own Operator, this track would convince me to pay for Operator so that I can save patches and continue to work from them.

I have not checked out the Covert Operators page yet. But after hearing this, I'm deffiniately going to.

Thanx in advance for Covert Ops.

I am loving it. I will be reverse (and foward) engineering it in my dreams for weeks.

Hey man, thanks for the comments!

the snare actually reminds me of a circuitbent toy drumbox I have and love, and the filters are really just an afterthought gone wrong. I will make an effort to finish it properly today, and tweak it out a lot more.

Could you please elaborate on this? Is it because of the stringent structure, with only a few fills and such? Or is the timing itself too tight?

please bear in mind that it is my partners in crime who did the covert operator patches, so there won't be any specific drum and bass things in there... yet!

WOW!! That was really good. Did you use any effects or was it 100% Operator?
On any account....that's some monster bass. I gotta get me some Operator.

Just listened to it again. Ok, its not the timing. It sounds like it needs some reverb on the master channel. The word timing must have came to mind because it sounds like some of the parts of the song where there is silence inbetween individual notes and drum hits makes it seem roboticly programed, even though it does have a decent swing. So I guess maybe some reverb and very light compression on the master channel would to take care of it.

I'm assuming you left reverbs and compression out of the mix because you are showing off Operator?

I hope what I'm saying makes sense.

Thank you! Yes, I did use the built-in Live fx for this, but if you're asking whether there are any fx samples in there, then no. There is not
