Recording triggered clips live?

Post by Porpy » Thu Mar 20, 2003 12:20 am

Hello

I am trying to work out if there is any way of recording what I am playing when I am triggering drum sounds from my keyboard straight into a clip slot.

I have setup a bunch of drum sounds mapped to different keys, and then I am playing them to create a groove. I would like to be able to set a clip slot to record and make its input the various clips that I am triggering so as to create a new loop.

Is there anyway yet of doing this in Live?

thanks

P

what ever clip you are recording to, all you have to do is arm that clip to be recording lives master output. press record, and trigger your clips till your hearts content.

hi

how can I do this though so that I dont record any other clips that might be looping along side what I am playing.

I guess I am looking for some kind of multioutput idea, so I could set the loops to be going out one master output, and then everything else go out another, so when I set the clip to record it can just record what I am playing live, while the other stuff remains separate.

possible?

okay, i can answer that porpy :D

set the output of the channels to another set of outputs on your soundcard

then you can record just what you are playing into the master outputs

simple 8)
