Get an Echo IndigoDJ PCMCIA audio card.
Great sound I might add.
Nice and compact.
Has dual stereo outputs so one is your master out and the other is a headphone jack (with a adjustable volume) allowing you too take full advantage of LIVE's prelisten and cuing facilities.
Tonnes of people here use them.
I use one as my main audio card at home.
I'd swear by them myself.
Exceptionally good DA converters for the price with a crisp , clear and in your face punchy sound - ie: the outputs are very HOT :D .
My aren't the wings of butterflies beautiful and do they not make wonderful perturbations.....

Or just use the www.asio4all.com drivers. Will probably give you nice low latency and access to all the outs you have. Works like a charm for me.

Can Live see more outs in the preference dialog? You might have to enable them there and then explicitly set the cueing to eg out 3/4.

yes it shows all outs and i select 3/4 for cuing...but lets say i play a track and try to cue a second i listen to the one cued from the main output..
this happens with my audigy as well :/
as i want to sell my audiophile and get the indigo, having this on my desktop will really help me :/

Are you on Windows XP?

Then you maybe have to set the speaker config under Controlo Panel --> Sounds Settings --> to Quadro speakers or something.

Try it, becourse windows has the ability to set how many speakers you use. If its set to 2 speaker it will only pass the sound thrue one output. If you set it to Quadro it will pass the sound to both outputs.

Give it a try.

one for the speaker output and one for cue?

Yes it should be OK. The only problem is that u can get the drivers for each card to crash with eachother. But it shouldnt be any problem.

give it a try if you have 1 extra card to test with.

Check this thing out: Image
It has six pairs of outs (if you use the included SPDIF connector). I've actually used the thing (with Asio4All's drivers) and it freaking screams! I haven't used it with the SPDIF connector though, just the single stereo jack, but all the out pairs do show up in Live ready to go. Even though it's only 16 bit, it handles up to a 192 Khz sampling rate. And look at the price- $30. Chump change. It has to be the tiniest USB card in existence.

but if it has only 1 stereo output, how can you monitor from the headphones while the sound plays on the speakers?
