Looping on the fly when using live as a dj tool?

I like the new loop in/out features as well BUT I am finding Live utterly useless when trying to do a mash-up mix of funk/soul/disco with mp3's because if more than one loop is playing, a 'pop' sounds each time the loop restarts. This even happens when the loop is muted!
I have tried this with many different tracks and loop points, always setting the markers at the 0 access point and still the problem persists.
Not to mention if three or more tracks are playing the CPU spikes from 60% and up... I've lost confidence in this software now.
This is such a piss off.
I have been using Live since version 1 and this is by far the buggiest version.
